Pristine Olive
I clearly remember the day I met Jamie, the founder of Pristine Olive. I introduced myself with my very poor English and gave him one of my business cards during VegFest 2015. I had been in Canada for roughly ten months.
We spoke about doing product shots for his olive oil line as he was very excited about the new branding and packaging design. He kindly invited me to stop by his store to do a little tasting tour, which I did a few months later with my mom.
Months passed, and I kept seeing him at local events. Our conversations became longer and longer each time. I asked him to be part of my cookbook in 2018, and he submitted the best Brussels sprouts recipe I’ve tried to date! Our group of friends also crossed paths, and eventually, we ended up going axe throwing, have dinner with his wife and kids, go to beer festivals and made fun weekend plans with mutual friends. A friendship was born!
Six years after that brief encounter at Vegfest, I finally got to do the product shots we talked about back then, and I must say that it felt a lot more special. It wasn’t just another product shoot for a client; it was capturing the brand image of a friend’s business. One that had evolved over the years and that will continue to grow.
Pristine Olive is now at a bigger and brighter location on Adelaide St, their offerings have increased tremendously, and the business continues expanding stronger than ever. A lot changed in the past six years since we met, and I can’t wait to see where things go in the next six years!
Cheers to friends supporting friends, and to turning the sometimes “under-appreciated” product shoot into meaningful work. Happiness is in the little things, and in this case, in the shape of classy olive oil bottles that look like wine bottles!
