Less is more! We are constantly trying to improve ourselves and our quality of work. We've noticed that roughly 45% of our emails aren't being opened (Wot? That’s a lot!), so we're going to be doing a little cleanup of our mailing list. In case you’re not aware, we have to pay to send these emails and the platform charges per number of recipients, regardless if they open the emails or not. So we'd like to spend the money on those of you who truly appreciate and enjoy reading from us! :)

Farewell my Friend(s)

We started this list three years ago while working on the Forest City Cookbook, and we've changed a lot since then. As we shifted our focus towards people and projects that are more in-tune with our lifestyle, our business practices and communications also changed.

We'll proceed to remove the emails with fewer interactions and kindly ask you to unsubscribe if you don't find our emails in-line with your interests. We don't want a list with hundreds of thousands of people; we want a small community of like-minded individuals, so we can all help each other and thrive together. We visualize this newsletter as a two-way street where we hope to start one-on-one conversations that will live and grow hidden from the overcrowded social media chatter!

New Format

When it comes to the emails themselves, we re-designed our email format in January, and it is now comprised of a section for Hamaka Chronicles, where we share updates about on-going projects (like our new Live Well Collection cookbook), behind the scenes from photoshoots, business announcements, etc. Two to three links to articles, artists' profiles, movies, or podcasts that we found inspiring throughout the month. A book recommendation from our current reads. A link to our Hamaka Sessions Playlists  on Spotify, where we share a collection of themed songs to enjoyed throughout the month. A featured quote from some great thinkers to foster reflection time!

We plan to share only one or two emails per month, as it is NOT our intention to clutter your inbox with promotions and pushy pitches like everyone else. Our goal is to share things that motivate us, hoping you'll find some inspiration in them too. We would also love to hear about the books, movies, articles and podcasts you enjoy, and get your feedback on our work every now and then!

Yay! You rock!

If you're feeling generous and would like to fill a 2-minute survey about the things you look for in a newsletter, we would highly appreciate it! Our mission is to serve you better and start crafting the emails that YOU want to be reading! We all have countless business emails to reply to every day, and we want to be the little ray of sunshine that brightens up your email account every few weeks.

The survey is anonymous, so feel free to be brutally honest with us!
